India is a country where the majority of the population lives in the rural areas. In rural areas, the hospitals are far away and due to lack of easy accessibility to travel, casualties suffer the most. To meet the communities health and medical needs, Mobile Medical Clinic was started by Irada Foundation.
The Mobile Medical Clinic (MMC) is a perfect set up to cater day to day medical requirements of the villages. The mobile medical team consists of Medical Doctors, Nurse, Social worker and Driver. There is a fixed schedule per village per week, time/ place, and patients are tracked and identified through Unique Id.
Through MMC, the door step services are availed by the patients for diagnosis and treatment of minor and major ailments for General, Dental and Ophthalmic aspects. For Medical care, the Foundation medical experts focuses on oral cancer screening followed by Non- Communicable diseases like blood pressure, blood sugar, kidney check and anemia.
Approximately 100 patients per day are diagnosed and treated. So far 51,089 patients have been covered from November 2016 to August 2018 (21 Months) through Medical Mobile Clinic covering more than 14 villages of Bavla Taluka, Ahmedabad District. Majority of the patients complained about body pain followed by skin problem and cough and cold. Other illnesses include fever, respiratory issues, acidity/gas/constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, diabetes, urinal and general weakness and blood pressure complications.
An affordable token price of Rs. 20/- is charged from the new patients and Rs. 10/- for follow-up Poor patients are treated free of cost.
Sanitary Hygiene
Focusing Women & Adolescent girl’s hygiene, during 8 months of time period, through existing mobile clinics almost 4,298 women & adolescents were provided 30,086 sanitary pads considering 7 pads per women per month requirement

W.H.O recognizes the oral health as an integral part of general health. Oral diseases are a major public health problem. Dental diseases are a significant public health threat having a substantial impact on the quality of life which in turn affects the daily performance and general life satisfaction.
Good oral and dental hygiene can prevent various dental problems like bad breathe, tooth decay, gum disease, mouth sores, tooth erosion, tooth sensitivity, tooth ache, oral cancer and so on.
Dental Mobile Clinic (DMC) was set up by lrada Foundation to help community overcome various dental problems. The DMC is 100% equipped with all the essentials including, autoclaving all the instruments daily before start, using 2% gluteraldhyte for various purpose between patients, sterilization of instruments after use through boiling water in sterilizer, preventing cross infection through wearing mask, hand gloves, and patients apron and formalin vapor sterilization for ambulance end of the day.
For maximum outreach, camp approach is followed with 5 days per week schedule for screening and treatment. There is a separate mobile number of DMC for contact and follow ups with patients. An affordable token price of Rs. 20/- is charged for screening and Rs. 20/- for any procedure (surgery or treatment) from the patients, which is non-comparable with the amount that is being charged by the private/other clinic and hospitals.
So far, within 8 months 1840 patients (Male:1028, Female : 709, Children : 103) were screened. Out of which,1023(55.5%) patients (Male:659, Female :346, Children:18) were treated for various for procedure/ surgeries from 92 villages of Bavla, Dholka and Sanand Taluka of Ahmedabad District and Kheda Taluka from Kheda District. Tooth extraction followed by scaling and polishing is maximally done. Other procedures include, Silver filling, Cement filling and X-RAY. The Foundation aims to persist supporting the initiative and handholding will be continued.
MOBILE OPHTHALMIC CLINIC (MOC)
Mobile Ophthalmic Clinic(MOC)
Contributing to access to health care component, Opthalmic Mobile Clinic was initiated to address preventive as well as curative needs of the community Eye Care. It was inaugurated by Shri Chintu Patel, Mrs. Falguni Patel and their family members on 10th July 2018 at Community level Health Camp organized at Baldana Village, Taluka Bavla, District Ahmedabad.
Ophthalmic Mobile Clinic is equipped with auto refractometer, Trial Frame, Trial set, Tonometer and an optometrist to screen rural community patients Eye related problems. After screening, spectacles are given to patient on token charge basis, while other required patients are referred to linked hospitals for their further institutional treatment.
Since it was being initiated from 10th of July 2018, within two months, by end of the August 2018, total 3,317 patients were screened from 28 villages of Bavla, Dholka and Sanand Talukas of Ahmedabad District through Camp Approach. These patients are screened for various Eye related problems like Refractive Error, Presbyopic, Cataract, Glaucoma, Chalazion and other problems. Out of (3,317), 2,401 patients were being given spectacles based on their numbers' requirements. While, 31 patients of cataract are refer to linked hospitals for further treatment.
